The weather is foul but you want to still stretch your legs or blow away the cobwebs from the night before, this walk from the village will take you up onto the Felinfach Common and give you spectacular views of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
Keep an eye out for the wildlife on this walk, buzzards and kites are often seen flying overhead. The majority of this walk is on quiet country roads with a stretch across the common.
The common has a well trodden route across it but beware of alternate paths/bridal ways which can take you off the intended route.
In addition the common can be boggy and muddy in places.
From the village follow the road up out of the village in a westerly direction.
Head past the cul-de-sac Glan Dulais and turn right at the first function.
Follow this road over a bridge then up past a chapel.
At the road junction turn right and down over another bridge then follow this road up onto the common ignoring the road to the right.
Cross the cattle grid and at the next two road junctions head right.
After the second right you will come to a pond on your left at this point leave the road and take a well defined bridle path up over the common.
As you start to descend look out for a bridle path to your right which will lead you to another road.
Once you have picked up the road follow this down passing a farm and stables.
The road will eventually swing left at a community hall building, here take the narrow road to the right.
Head down passed a church which will be on your right and at the next road junction turn right.
Follow this road back to the village.
